Kalani Ayi Abulfata Ariyibi-Sani, of Silver Spring, was arrested on Thursday following an investigation into his delivery of a curious package to a neighbor in Silver Spring.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Alderton Drive, where there was a report of a suspicious package containing drugs that was delivered to a homeowner in the area.

Police say that upon arrival, officers observed video surveillance of what appeared to be multiple suspects with flashlights, searching in the homeowner’s yard. Two men and a woman were all spotted in the yard, one of whom ran from the scene.

At the time, Ariyibi-Sani was found to be in possession of a loaded Sam Diego Privateer 7.62 AR-style pistol under his jacket.

Further investigation led to the recovery of over 100 Xanax pills, two digital scales, marijuana, and a bottle of Promethazine.

Ariyibi-Sani was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where he has been charged with multiple drug and firearm charges.

The woman - who has not been identified - was also found to be in possession of drugs. She was also taken into custody and charged with possession.
